Instead of everything switching over to solar energy we insist on continuing to burn fossil fuels and further adding to the large amounts of greenhouse gases that are in our atmosphere. For example an electric train that simple runs on the electricity will not burn fossil fuels but the electricity is conducted by burning fossil fuels. So you can look at is as we are doing half of what we need to do, but it's still not enough.
The source of electricity that can cause greenhouse gases is just about anything that you are using in your home, from heating to cooling. This is why it's some important that we are keeping our heat set as low as possible. There really isn't any reason for it to be set at 85 degrees during the winter months. I can truly go on for hours upon hours about this, but I think that you get the picture of what I am trying to say. If we don't begin minimizing everything in our homes or our daily lives that produces greenhouse gases we are dooming ourselves to a life on earth that was never though possible. The source of electricity that can cause greenhouse gases, such as your heating and air conditioning unit is the first thing that you should start with, than move on to driving your car less often by setting up car pooling with people from work.
